A long-time client engaged Studio Dorion to reimagine their Brooklyn brownstone, and renovate the primary bathroom. A previous renovation had left the house with a number of gray, lifeless, spaces that didn’t fit the vibrant life this young family was living in the house. An avid art collector and lover of modern design, the client asked for a space that could accommodate her growing collection. By cladding walls in bark paper, antique mirror, and cork (inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic office) the various rooms were each given more personality and depth. The furnishings were updated to include a variety of seating in textural fabrics and warm lighting, allowing the rooms to function for larger group entertaining as well as intimate family moments.
