Project
NoHo Apartment
Location
Manhattan, NY
When a young professional purchased the top floor of a landmarked building in NoHo, Studio Dorion was tasked with transforming the separate units into a single cohesive residence—overseeing the architecture and interiors. What was once many small rooms making up two derelict apartments, was renovated to become an open-plan loft befitting the building and the neighborhood. By developing an elaborate architectural plan, and consulting with engineers, our team ensured the space could encapsulate all modern conveniences. Central air conditioning, a chef’s kitchen, media room, laundry, guest room, and an ensuite primary suite were fit into 1,500 square feet. Drawing inspiration from the building’s Italianate facade, a colonnade of arched windows was added to the living room, giving way to a language of romantic austerity that continues throughout the space.
